A simple way to understand why you are getting stressed around goals is to ask yourself this question:
“Is it the goal that is stressing me?” OR
“Is it the actions I have to take to get the goals?”
Both create different types of stress, and both need different processes to overcome them.
Identify the issue first before taking corrective action.
By the way, often when this happens, some people actually avoid thinking about their goals.
This is classic Flight, Fight or Avoidance behaviour.
Just a note: there is always going to be a certain amount of stress and tension required to realise a goal. It just depends if the stress is helpful or not. One type of tension can motivate, and the other often creates unhelpful behaviours.
