Visualisation Works

You’ve probably heard people say that success is a mindset.
They’re absolutely right. If you’re not in the right frame of mind, you’ll have a lot of trouble achieving success.

In fact, you’re going to struggle with the very first step – the setting of goals.
You see, goal-setting isn’t about the outcome you want to create. We discussed and emphasised this with many of the sales people we train. Among other things, sales people want to learn how to put one’s mind into a winning state.

In the next few posts, you’ll learn some of the best techniques and mind shifts for doing this.
But for now, let’s focus on the most useful (in my opinion):

As it implies, visualisation is about putting yourself in a scenario you want to achieve in the future.
It’s more than just thinking about your goal and picturing it, though. You need to really feel everything you wish to create.

You’ll be glad to learn that you can apply this to any future situation.
Let’s say I want to go mountain climbing. In this scenario, I’d picture myself there and take in as many details as possible. I’d think about what I’d be doing, who I’d be with, and a host of other details.

For visualisation to help you achieve your goals, it’s got to meet one requirement…
An effective visualisation must have a strong emotional charge. It needs to be so compelling that your brain automatically starts to think about what you need to do to achieve it.

If you’re able to truly visualise your outcome and meet it with emotion, the path forward will take shape by itself.
